Should You Consider Having Custom Facebook Pages
Should You Consider Having Custom Facebook Pages
Many people are using Facebook as one way of conveying messages to other people. In fact many people having a commercial or personal business are taking advantage of the popularity of Facebook and use the social network site as form of advertising products, services, brands, and a lot more. Every one who has a Facebook account may develop custom Facebook pages that from the term itself are personalized and customized accordingly. Some people also create custom Facebook tabs that will land directly to ones own Facebook page.
One may create personalized page design or may ask FBML programmer or any designer to come up with a very good design. Different people may have their own custom Facebook pages that have different styles, designs and of course contents. Just like custom pages, one may also create his or her own Facebook tab or opt to get the services of a Facebook tab designer. Whatever it may be what is important is to come with a very good tab or page to attract more people visiting the site. There are plenty of web developer who could create page and Facebook tap. Because of many Facebook fans, the social network got its own Facebook Markup Language or most commonly known as FMBL that is a very good tool to create different custom Facebook pages and tabs and other applications. The FBML is not recommended for the first timer developers as FBML code is very critical.
One may ask what good do custom Facebook pages bring to a person. First, these personalized pages are not only good for a person but instead could give greater advantage for those who are in business. Very good designs and some enhancements on different links to make the pages more accessible are great fac
tors to consider making the Facebook page popular. Of course the ultimate objective of creating a page is to have a personalized avenue to convey ones message to all other people. That message may be in the form of advertisements, promotions, invitations and many more. Many companies constantly discover and go with not just a fad but the correct path of using Facebook to advertise their products, services and brands. Some organizations working on for a cause are also being catered by this famous social network. Events and even opinions may also be shouted out through Facebook. There are various sites in the internet that help people create greater custom pages. There are tools available through the net that could help in creating a work of art page. Some sites also showcase different pages and one can really have access to view the gallery to get better ideas.
Custom Facebook pages don’t just perk brand awareness. Instead these could give so many advantages from cost effectiveness up to the point of connecting to your clients. This is a great tool to give updates to your products and services and welcome business opportunities.

Driving Traffic To Your Business Opportunity
Article by Cenay Nailor
I guess you would have to have been living under a rock (or just not surfing the Internet) for the past two years to NOT know about Google’s Adwords feature, but I thought I would spend a few minutes explaining how to drive traffic to your business opportunity page. While there are a few methods (we will cover them all in later posts) to do this, none is as quick or effective as using one of the largest *in-place* methods available, Google Adwords.
Here’s how it works… you research what keywords you want to advertise for (keywords are what the people searching Google use to get results), build an ad, bid on the keywords and then turn on the tap. Instant traffic flows to your web site.Sounds easy doesn’t it?
The Keywords
Well, there are a few pitfalls (think Grand Canyon if you go into this without some forethought), some things to look out for, and you need to be prepared to spend some time researching, reviewing, refining and adjusting the list of words or phrases people will be searching for to find you. If you just put 1-10 keywords in your bid list, you will get a few *hits*. The more keywords you enter, the more *hits*.But, and let me be VERY clear here, if you enter keywords just for the sake of having more in your list, you will go broke pretty fast. You want *laser-guided keywords* that bring traffic to your site, but you ONLY want keywords that relate directly to your opportunity, and indicate a willingness on the part of the web surfer to review your page.
In other words, don’t include a keyword phrase like “real estate home business” because those people aren’t looking for what you are offering (unless you actually have an MLM opportunity in the real estate field!). Every time someone searching for that term sees your ad and clicks, you wasted the “cost-per-click” associated, you pissed off the surfer because they really don’t want to know more about your MLM and you dilute your traffic analytics.
The Ad
The next element to successfully driving traffic to your web site is the ad itself. Google has been a little stingy with space and only allows you 25 characters in the headline, 35 in each of two description lines, and a display URL (also 35 characters ). Frankly, it’s pretty hard to generate excitement and interest with so few words, but it can be done. Again, plan to spend a little time with this element. You want to explain features or benefits to the person reading the ad, so they WANT to click to see what you have to offer.Whatever you do, don’t lie. People aren’t stupid (despite what you might think) and will leave disgusted if they see an obvious lie. They will also leave pretty quick if they clicked a ad that promised them free information and only find paid content available. Again, this just wastes your money and their time. Not a good combination.
The Capture (or Landing) Page
The final element, and one you should plan to give a lot of thought to, is your landing page. This is the page that the web surfer sees when they do click on your ad. You have about 5 seconds to grab their attention and give them a reason to keep reading
so this should quickly explain what you are about, or answer a question they have been asking (their internal dialogue), or even better, ask them a question they really want to know the answer to, such as “Are you losing weight the way you want to?” or “Do you have all the money you need to do the fun things in life? I do!”.
The headline is one of the most important aspects of your Capture Page. And if you ask and then answer the question (within the body of the sales letter), they will keep reading. Make your points one by one, each one directed at generating excitement, showing them how it is possible for them and then ask them to take action. It can be to sign up for more info (lead capture), or sign up now, or purchase something from you. The goal here is to get them to take action for their own benefit, so your wording needs to move them to that end. My favorite is the email capture because I know with their email address, I have more than one opportunity to *sell* them. I can send them free information, build trust, get them used to hearing from me (but don’t over do this part) and then when they are ready, whether its tomorrow, next week or two months from now, they will remember the contact, the good information and they will call me and ask to join the organization. Why? Because I educated them, and asked for nothing in return.
I could spend hours and hours on how to drive traffic to your business opportunity and still not scratch the surface, but I wanted to give you some food for thought. There are other ways which I will cover in more detail in later posts, but here is a teaser…
Forum’s: Posting, answering questions, asking questions and interacting with other network marketing professionals is a good way to establish yourself as an authority. It’s also a free way to drive traffic to your business opportunity. Just add a signature line to your profile so each time you post or reply to a message, your link is shown and clickable. Remember, other networking people read these posts. Many will click the link to see what you are doing.
Blogs: Posting information in your blog is also a good way to drive traffic where you want it. Write a post about the three things you should avoid saying on the phone with a prospect, or the 5 things you need to always say, or how to counter rejection, and people will read it. The search engines will list you, so someone looking for information about what you wrote about will be presented with your blog entry. The more you write, the more traffic you get. Remember to show your business opportunity link somewhere on your blog page. Every few posts, mention that that link explains *something* better. There are free Blogs out there, ready and waiting for you. I use both Blogger.com and I host my own using Blogger’s interface. I also have a WordPress blog (this one) that allows for some more advanced templates, though it’s a little harder to get setup initially. While hosting your blog or using WordPress might be a little too advanced for your taste, the first is literally *push-button-publishing*. Go to http://www.blogger.com and try it today.
Articles: There are dozens of article directories available on the web today. Each of these articles allows an unlimited number of *reprints* by anyone at all. Let’s say I have a website about Gardening and I want fresh content so the search engines are happy, but don’t have time to write it myself… I search out an article from one of more than 700 directories, pull the article and post it on my site. The search engines are happy. The web surfer is happy. And the person that wrote the article is happy because each reprint MUST include all the original text and links. It’s a win-win.

Facebook just announced that it’s in the process of
launching their own email platform.
“This is not an e-mail killer,” said Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. “This is a messaging system that includes e-mail as one part of it.”
The messaging platform will support email, SMS text and chat, a lot like Gmail. Kinda sounds like Zuckerberg wouldn’t mind killing Gmail, and I’d be easily convinced that he could accomplish that.
Back to my point, Facebook is making it very easy to leave other apps behind. Why have a separate email account when you can have one that’s integrated with all your Facebook contacts, making it easier for you to connect and stay connected?
Facebook book is becoming the Virtual Town Square because we’re finding that it’s a one-stop shop for our online social needs and now much more.
Why do I think this is important?
We already know that Facebook gets more traffic than any other site on the web. Facebook email will most likely broaden that gap even further, which means this is where the people are.
The people you’re trying to target and engage with.
You’re not going to find a better place to start building your brand, than on Facebook. Tap into the web’s most visited site and use all the tools that make available for you with ads, fan pages, etc!
Do you think I’m right about this, how Facebook is more and more becoming the all-inclusive web app for users? And that your business needs to be using Facebook now more than ever? Comment Below!

Facebook has introduced its latest changes to privacy settings, to appease disgruntled users who have been somewhere within the range of mildly irritated to outraged over the previous incarnation. The company is getting numerous pats on the back, or at least "that’s more like it" responses from people for the most part (there are some who still aren’t satisfied).
Do you like the latest approach Facebook is taking to privacy? Tell us what you think.
While the settings do address the main concerns that have been so widely discussed and publicized since the launch of Facebook’s Open Graph/instant personalization initiative, no privacy settings are truly going to protect people’s privacy on Facebook – and that’s not Facebook’s fault. I would blame a combination of human nature and technology.
? That doesn’t mean you have privacy on Facebook. ” src=”http://images.ientrymail.com/webpronews/article_pics/paparazzi.jpg” />If you’re worried about privacy and how it is related to Facebook, it really doesn’t matter how many times Facebook adjusts its privacy settings. The fact of the matter is that there is no more privacy, unless you don’t interact with people whatsoever. This applies whether you have a Facebook account or not. That really makes no difference if someone whips out their phone and takes a picture of you. With most modern phones, all they have to do is tap a button to send it right to Facebook for all of their friends to see. Did you say or do something embarrassing at a party? Witnesses can easily become instant broadcasters, and there’s a good chance that some of their Facebook friends know you.
Did you casually mention something to a friend? Anything? They may mention it in a status update and instantly let all of their friends know about it. Whether or not they did this with any malicious intent is irrelevant. It happens. Human contact in general should be considered non-private. If you say or do anything that you truly want kept private, you better keep it to yourself or let people know you don’t want others to know about it (and hope that they care).
Facebook is really just an extension of the web itself, when it comes to privacy. The same rules apply to YouTube, MySpace, Twitter, blogs, or any other platforms where users can communicate to the public (or even to a closed network).
The privacy issues that exist now have existed the entire time the web has been around. It’s only the pace of sharing, which has accelerated. Years ago, someone could have easily created a website about you if they knew how to create a website at all. Status updates and blog posts are just easier. Smartphones make them almost like a reflex for some people – and the smartphone market continues to grow rapidly.
Mark Zuckerberg has taken a lot of flack over the privacy concerns that have arisen around Facebook of late, as well as his own stance on privacy in general, but no matter how much Facebook or any other social networking entity on the web tweaks its privacy, your privacy will never truly be ensured – unless you hide from society completely.
There are pros and cons to the manner in which technology evolves (and continues to do so). Regardless of your stance on privacy, it’s pretty clear that things aren’t going to be slowing down anytime soon, and a decreased sense of privacy is simply a side effect.

Facebook Privacy and Business
Apart from the grand scheme of things, Facebook’s new settings should make some users more comfortable, and the more comfortable Facebook users are the better off Facebook and anyone who considers it a significant part of their business strategy will be.
"What these privacy advocates don’t get is that Facebook, like Google, isn’t free," says SeeWhy Founder Charles Nicholls, who has written about the subject. "It’s a massive service that needs to be paid for, and that service is going to be funded by a multi-billion dollar advertising business, just as Google is. This is the price you pay for using a ‘free’ service. Facebook ‘Like’ is central to this strategy and equally important for ecommerce."
Many (myself included) have speculated that Facebook’s Open Graph could lead to the company launching an AdSense-like product down the line, with the ability to target users all over the web based on their personal interests. It could be very powerful. Mark Zuckerberg’s response to the notion that any of the company’s recent moves are geared toward advertising (via VentureBeat):
There is also this idea going around that if people share information openly that we can use it better for ad targeting. But advertisers don’t get any information from the system. We don’t give your information to them. We target all the ads ourselves. And it doesn’t matter who you’re sharing with, whether it’s your friends or the public. It doesn’t affect the ads at all.
Does that change anything? Couldn’t an AdSense-like product still work without the advertisers getting personal information from users and letting Facebook do the targetintg?
Regardless of whether or not such an ad network is ever actually released, e-commerce businesses have a lot to gain from Facebook’s Open Graph.
"From an ecommerce point of view, what’s not to like here?" asks Nicholls. "It’s now really easy for your visitors to share what they like on your website with their friends, without so much as a login. The ease of use and simplicity of the ‘Like’ button makes it a sure-fire hit, as long as users can get comfortable with privacy."
Comfort or no comfort from users, the Open Graph is definitely a hit with businesses, and judging from all the "liking", "recommending", etc. going on around the web, privacy may really not be as big of a concern among general users as it has been made out to be in the media.
